DMA Spending

Regional analysis is based on all 210 Nielsen Designated Market Areas (DMAs). Spend is heavily concentrated within a relatively small number of major metropolitan regions. The Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago, Miami, Houston, and Los Angeles DMAs collectively account for 37.4% of total tracked spend in 2025, with Dallas representing 10.5% and Chicago 7.6%.

The top 10 DMAs represent 57.6% of total spend, and the top 20 account for 75.8%, indicating a pronounced concentration of competitive investment in large and mid-sized metropolitan markets. This distribution highlights where children’s hospitals are prioritizing visibility and where competitive pressure is most significant.
